Last week, I had the honour to represent Washington D.C at the #FBLA National Leadership Conference. Although I came with competition in mind, I left with something much more valuable: Community.

Throughout the week, I had conversations with students whose ambitions inspired me, state and national officers whose leadership challenged me to think bigger, and professionals whose stories introduced me to new possibilities – such as expanding DC FBLA involvement.

Most importantly, they reminded me that every person you meet is living a life entirely different from your own, filled with experiences, perspectives, and lessons you could never begin to fathom.

So while prestige, opportunity, and achievement may be important in a conference setting, the connections you form are what truly shapes us.

See you all at the fall leadership conference!
